This is why I don’t tell anybody in my life that I’m writer, except one friend. I don’t even tell my family, because when I’m achieving goals like these, we’ve become far too reliant on our own blood to support us regardless of what we do.
That will not always be the case. Not telling anyone your plans doesn’t leave them in the dark, it ensures your laser-like focus because then you won’t have to worry about delivering to anybody, except your audience that only you know about.
Besides, there won’t always be somebody around to hold you accountable; sometimes you have to do it yourself.
