To tweet or not to tweet…

Twitter is an interactive media network that creates interactive relationships for users that have common interests or similar occupations to share ideas and/or information and allows it’s users to broadcast a short 140 character post on a platform to their followers. As I use Twitter I notice as I follow more of my classmates and have them follow me it creates a community like atmosphere where we all like and retweet each other’s tweets.

I find that as we continue to use Twitter that we find posts and tweets that we like so we retweet to share it amongst our PLN. This then creates flow of information that can be used by not only the user who originally posted the information but also their followers. I believe this could be an effective way in which information is shared via Twitter, creating a PLN.

Through using Twitter as a form of PLN, I believe that it could potentially become an effective way in which myself and fellow classmates are able to come together in our learning as the students. I also think using Twitter, we are creating a community in which we can use each other’s information later on in our degrees and further into our careers as educators.

As I complete my degree I hope that using Twitter will continue to be a part of my PLN as I believe it provides the ability to gain information beyond what was learnt in lectures, tutorials and what was provided in books. I believe it gives us the ability to incorporate current and real life situations into our careers.
