Bojan Tomic I think you’ve misunderstood what the author is getting at. They aren’t mad because there is white representation. They are actually asking for more non-white/minority representation especially in something as globally used as snapchat so that problems like ‘yellow face’ don’t happen. So that when Snapchat is having a meeting that are often seemingly full of whites, there could also be POC there to explain why the potential filter might be problematic or offensive.

In regards to your comment about white [males] being more qualified — I totally agree with that. But a question worth asking is why white males tend to be more qualified. Could it be that minorities face many social barriers, ie. systemic racism, language barriers, etc.? Often times the reason as to why they may not be as qualified isn’t because they are less intelligent or don’t have the potential, but rather because they weren’t given the same opportunity as the middle class white person.
