Excellent as usual Stowe. You always leaves me thinking long after the read. I wonder after reading this piece though, is it naive to think that the popularity of Work Chat tools exists not just because it aligns to today’s work but because it is “safer social” for the status quo? Work Chat works well in silos. No demands for greater transparency/openness up the chain and across the enterprise. ESN platforms invited greater cross pollination maybe even inspired “rebellion” against how work, management, leadership are done. Chilling propositions for an established hierarchy.
