If I had to choose just one timesaver that I couldn’t live without on the Mac it would be this third party ($) system utility: Default Folder X by St. Clair software.
It integrates into all Open/Save dboxes and gives you instant access to last created files, last folders, file paths and more. But it’s the list of recent files and/or folders that saves me tons of times while working deep inside multiple networked drives that pays for the app very quickly.
I watch co-workers struggle through folder ‘drilling’ all the time and wonder why they don’t take my advice and order this. But I find a lot of people really hate taking on anything that steps away from the standard OSx setup for whatever reason. Go figure.
Keep drilling.
