I have struggled with delegation of work for the 25 or so years i’ve been someones “boss”. I used to think I should just do it myself, rather than either letting someone else try and fail, or, even worse, thinking I was the only one who could do the job. I’ve been lucky to have a few good mentors in my career that taught me otherwise. For the past decade, this new digital content marketing space has been kicking my ass as I try to keep on top of the changing landscape. If I wasn’t keenly aware of delegation, i’d be a fossil. My team is exactly the right tool for the job. They consistenly keep me on my toes and ensure we ALL move forward. Team win. Team loss.
Keep learning, keep teaching, keep growing others. It’s the only way to stay strong, smart, efficient and frankly, relevant, in the long run.
