Bitcoin and the 3rd World

I have recently tried out in order to send bitcoins to another person via SMS.

This is important because in some 3rd world countries, all they own is an SMS-enabled cell phone. They can now have a “bank account” on their phone.

Many people continue to hold their money on their person and this is dangerous as they could be robbed or it would leave them in a state of panic that their hard earned money could be at risk.

The biggest challenge is adoption. In order to use their digital currency, they would need to have stores that accept it. (Bills, Groceries, Gas, etc.)

Right now is a chance for innovation in the new eco-system. When you are ready to help me, shoot me a note.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
