Thanks Patrick for your response. For smart contracts I struggle with automating them. To me, arbitration seems to be the core of a contract. Everyone wants to avoid it, but life happens and we all need a court as an arbiter. I could be wrong and maybe people writing smart contracts are smarter, but I am not seeing the need :)

I look at Bitcoin more as a store of value first and payment mechanism second. I want those miners grinding to produce blocks to protect my coin. I think something else is needed for quick payments.

I am relatively new, but I really enjoyed and appreciated your response.
