I think it is a hard call here. I think there is a lot of desirable and undesirable passion at play. There are people really passionate about hate (building walls, bombing people, deportation), which causes some of those (not all) who are passionate about the opposite to feel as though they must come out with the same level of passion.

Will preaching change either sides opinion? Probably not. Is it sometimes just the bickering back and forth of who hates who? Yes. But, are we seeing an uprise of people who are fighting for what they believe in for others to see? I think so. We are talking about some very serious prejudices, so if we aren’t going to stand up for freedom, then we are letting others know this hate is ok. I for one do not believe its ok for any person, not just a trump supporter, to spread this type of hate.
