The Rundown

Bones and All (2022) is a love story before anything else, following Maren a young woman learning how survive on the outskirts of town and Lee, a self-assured and experienced drifter. Upon meeting and experiencing their instant chemistry, the pair joins each-other for a one thousand-mile journey, taking them through hidden passages and the trap doors of President Reagan’s America. Despite their best efforts to stay optimism on route to freedom, all roads lead back to their traumatic past experiences with their final stop being a testament to the love they’d built together.

Why Should You Watch It?

The chemistry between the cast is a reason worthy enough on its own, but if that hasn’t peaked your interest, I’m sure the daintily scattered moments of cannibalism will have you looking twice. With two such gentle on-screen presences such as T. Chamalet and T. Russell, the monster lurking beneath just becomes even more exciting to unfold as a viewer. Luca Guadgino’s vision for this film could not have been more carefully delivered as it’s evident the entire production team was made aware of the fine line not to be crossed when creating a romance driven horror film. Interesting, tense and visually a masterpiece to watch for anyone a fan of film aesthetics.

Wrap Up

Don’t want to unveil too much about why I absolutely adore this film in a sea of cannibalism themed media surfacing at the tail end of this year, but I will say this one stands out for its non-chalant approach to the situations at hand. This is a love story first and a testament to young love by the end.
