Facelift Procedures to Make Your Face Even More Beautiful

Thread Facelift

Thread facelifts are a quick, minimally invasive alternative to traditional facelifts. During this procedure, a surgeon will create tiny stitches just below the skin to lift the underlying muscles. This procedure can often be performed without anesthesia and leaves no visible scars. Because the entire treatment takes about one to two hours, it is sometimes referred to as a “lunchtime lift.” This treatment is most suitable for patients in their 30’s and 40’s who simply want to make minor adjustments to their appearance.

The Deep Plane Lift

The deep plane lift is considered the gold standard. It involves lifting, releasing and repositioning the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS). In short, the SMAS layer is located underneath the skin and surrounds the muscles of facial expression; that is, the muscles used for smiling, frowning, and other facial expressions. The deep plane lift has been shown through peer-reviewed studies to offer longer-lasting results with fewer revisions.

Standard Facelift

A standard or “traditional” facelift will more fully address moderate to advanced aging around the mid-face and neck. While the surgery is more extensive than those for a mini-facelift, and thus more recovery time is required, the results are more dramatic. Through incisions located just behind the hairline, starting near the temples, and around the front of the ear, hidden in the natural folds, a cosmetic surgeon can reposition the deeper tissues beneath the skin and remove excess skin to smooth creases, eliminate jowling and sagging skin under the chin, and restore a naturally youthful contour to the face and neck.

Mini Facelift

A mini face-lift affects the mid-face including cheeks, lower eyelids, jawline, neck and folds around the nose. Unlike a traditional face-lift, which focuses on the entire face, a mini face-lift only affects specifically targeted areas. It does not address sagging in the brow or forehead.

Mid-Facelift

To perform the mid-facelift, the surgeon makes tiny incisions in the hairline above the patient’s ear, as well as inside the mouth. During the procedure, the surgeon pulls the fat pads in the cheeks up and over the cheekbones to tighten sagging skin in the cheekbone area. Doctors often perform this procedure using an endoscope — a tiny camera that allows the doctor to visualize the surgical area.
