Python? Ruby? I’m not sure those are exactly easy to master, either — but I’ve heard that they are at least feature-rich. C++ is actually pretty small as languages go; STL (or the “standard library,” I guess we’re supposed to say now) is big and getting bigger, but STL is something one does with C++; it isn’t C++ the language.
