I graduated from high school in 2001 and my historical lessons were from teachers who substituted our textbooks. However, the substituted lectures were reviewed and monitored. I cannot verify if historical facts were not presented due to adults not knowing or told not to share, but I learned more after my 12 years of public schooling in North Carolina.
