The question of “born that way” is irrelevant — or, at least, ought to be — when it comes to whether or not a person has civil & legal rights. After all, there is not one single religious person anywhere who was “born that way” — religion is the very definition of a learned, chosen, & socially acculturated “lifestyle choice” — yet religion is given explicit Constitutional protection.
There is not one good reason to deny gay people their full civil & legal rights. Not one. Any amount of scientific research as to why people are or are not gay is entirely missing the point.
