Maybe the fear is that kids will watch Sid the Science Kid, learn some basic science (conservation of energy, radiative heat transfer, what infra-red absorption spectroscopy is, what carbon dioxide is and where it comes from) which will cause them to believe in climate change even though it is against Republican doctrine.
