Salford and Eccles needs an MP who puts local priorities first.
Hello, my name is Bryan Blears and I am proudly standing as the Green Party candidate for Salford and Eccles this General Election.
Over the past year, I have been meeting with communities across Salford who aren’t happy with the direction our city is travelling in. We are suffering from a lack of affordable housing, worsening poverty in our town centres, an increase in knife crime, and traffic and pollution problems across the city.
An MP’s first priority should be to their constituency — to Salford. If elected I will be a voice for this city and stand up for people in Langworthy, Swinton, Eccles, Claremont and Pendlebury, as well as those living closer to the city centre. I will ensure that the residents waiting for dangerous cladding to be replaced on Salford’s tower blocks have to wait no longer. And I will speak up in Parliament for the funding our council and NHS desperately needs.
I will be a local MP you can always contact and rely on. But I will also take on the important work of transforming our economy and society on behalf of the Green Party.
We need to act to reverse the effects of man-made climate change and reshape our economy to put people before corporate greed. Labour has talked the talk when it comes to the environment, but Labour’s plans — to build houses on Salford’s Green Belt and expand Manchester Airport to over double its existing capacity by 2035 — show they can’t be trusted to do what is needed.
People are starting to realise that we need to act now if we are to protect the future. I honestly believe that we can win in Salford, and deliver change across the country, with your help.
Please consider giving me your vote. I won’t let our city down.
