I actually won’t argue the issue of weather Free Will exists. Rather, if Free Will does not exist then any discussion of what we should “do” is therefore moot. If there is no Free Will then providing optimized inputs is not possible, nor is altering inputs or outputs, all of our behavior is in a sense pre ordained.

In fact it is the opaqueness of your concept of determinism that makes free will exist even as the concept of an illusion. If we are all living the illusion and you’re the only one who’s not, then who’s crazy?

So if ultimately you are right, who cares? We all still have to go around making the decisions we didn’t make and discovering what our next moment will be regardless of this information.

Finally if it is true that there is no Free Will, belief in Free Will can’t be dangerous because it was already determined that I would believe it. The belief is just a part of the cosmic drama that is playing out without my personal input.
