The reality of our contemporary cyborg state concerns a reliance on GPS for spatial and navigational sensibilities. Currently, we have virtually uploaded most of our spatial awareness to our computers and phones. To this extent, we use GPS for navigation, especially when driving, and to some extent for relationships. Now, there is a Russian concerted effort to create or disrupt GPS signals and cause faults in GPS devices. By messing around with the most basic user interface of the GPS system, Russian ministries and agencies managed to create GPS dirty zones that are bugged and spoofed. In these zones, devices are made to look like they are where they aren’t. Stop, drop, and go areas that hinder the general navigational abilities and capabilities of a person. My questions: Are we still capable of navigating without our technological compass?
