Yeah, I think what you describe “starting with traditional mobile browsing and moving (progressively enhancing) in and out of VR” makes a lot of sense — and is the opportunity we’re most likely to pursue. There’s some great examples from that via http://smus.com/vr-views/ and https://developers.googleblog.com/2016/03/introducing-vr-view-embed-immersive.html that simply behave like traditional (QuickTime) VR media by default, but can be viewed within a VR context if your device supports it.
