We are all different in the same way.

My friend said it best; When asked where he was from one time his response was, “Earth.” Now, to a person with limited thinking that might seem odd, disingenuous, and a ‘smart’ response. But in fact it was a beautiful and subtle way of developing common ground with whom is was talking to. We are all from Earth. A woman gave birth to us, and we are all children of men. Consequently, due to the invisible lines graphed into our minds, since day one of school we are told we are separate from everyone who isn’t from our country, state, area code, town, street, and house. “Everyone is different,” said our parents, teachers, and administrators of our life long education. In my opinion we are all different in the same way.

Allow me to explain.

Everyone is just another potential version of who you could have been if thrusted into the same circumstances and chosen the same course of action in response.

The only thing that defines us is the choices we make. That does not separate me from my fellow man or woman; in fact our choices intertwine and bind us to other souls. Ignorance to this is constricted awareness. The actions and decisions I’ve made have led me into relationships with the people I currently surround myself with, and has also connected me to you. Just the decision to write this blog at 3AM, and your choice to read it has now brought us together.

Each choice is a brick in the foundation of your future.

Decisions are the determining factor of what and whom will be attracted into your life.

You choose who you are. You do so every day, consciously or unconsciously.

Stop for a moment. Find a quiet space, alone. Grab a pen and paper and go back on your day and record it. Look at your day objectively. Are you satisfied with how much you produced? Are you satisfied with the actions you chose? Can you do more? Produce more? Become more? Do this exercise and answer these questions. Decide if that is who you truly want to be, or do you desire change?
