What're the highest paying career fields? — medical, entertainment, sales.

I’ve worked in the food and hospitality industry — I get taken advantage of. The only way to scale there is moving up to management and even then, corporate takes advantage of me. I’ve worked in the health and fitness industry — I get worn out. The more I care about my clients, the less time I have for myself.

It was then I realized I needed to take more care of myself financially. So I began to look into sales — more sales. I started my own business but…

I work in sales and I have a quota to hit 60 calls per day.

SOP (standard operating procedure) has if I make 60 calls per day, I should be able to hit at least 10% so 6 people should make an appointment with me or at least schedule something. I work from 11 AM to 8 PM on most days. The average person that I’m trying to reach is at work from 9 AM to 5 PM. So I hit voicemail about 80% of the time. …

When you hear or think about death, do you have negative thoughts?

Why?

One day in San Diego I walked to the edge of a cliff. I found some writing engraved in the cliff (photo above).

“Depart to arrive”

At this point I realized something. I needed to kill myself in order to recreate myself. I was at a point where I was happy, but complacent. I was stuck. I felt dead inside.

After a couple months, big changes started to happen. My relationship of over three years ended. …

The mind is a complex system. We all have times of need for creativity, finance, and fitness. The biggest thing I want everyone to understand it takes years to be able to accomplish a balance of the three.

Creative / Mental Outlet

I’m slowly learning that I’ve been writing all my thoughts down for all or most of 2018. When I’m at my office job in the day time and I have a thought, I typically address it immediately or write it down in order to prioritize my thoughts.

Throughout the time spent developing myself, I’m learning more and more…

The Cyclical Life

This thought was developed after reading Ego is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday. In the book, Holiday separates the chapters with sections — Aspire, Success, and Failure.

I believe that we all go through that cycle. Although I believe that we all start on different paths and sometimes different routes, the cycle remains the same.

For instance in today’s time of moral dependency, younger generations are more sensitive to stressful situations in comparison to the older generations. I believe that this just shows the cycle in effect.

For those of the older generations, they had to go…

Are you stressed all the time? Do you think that everything always hits you all at the same time?

Binary — composed of two things.

Imagine this. You have two options. Even when you have a difficult decision between two great things, it’s a lot easier to make a decision than having multiple options and being unorganized.

Here’s a three step process to help you get through difficult times.

1. Identify

Identify the root problem. What’s the real issue at hand? Are you overwhelmed from work and errands?

Do you have to go to work, pick up your kid, make…

For the majority of Americans, the top three expenses are housing, transportation, and food.

We all need those three key and essential things. I think the biggest problem is that most people don’t know when/if they go on sale or have linear thinking. Is it because we aren’t creative, our egos and care of social status prevent us from creating wealth, maybe it’s something else.

Housing

We all need shelter — a roof over our heads. It wasn’t until recently in late 2017 and early 2018 that I started to hack building wealth through real estate. I bought a house…

I believe in today’s society, individuals want to be in control of everything around them. There’s almost a sense of entitlement, but this book humbled me.

It taught me that life is cyclical. We do not have control of the cycle, but we can control how we react when we hit obstacles.

The book breaks down into three parts — 1. Aspire 2. Success 3. Failure

Aspire

The book is a great collection of stories for each part. In the aspire portion, the book includes multiple stories. The stories that stick to me are from Frank Shamrock and John Boyd.

Create a “Not-To-Do List”

How many times have you created a to-do list and just become overwhelmed? How many times have you said, “I’m not doing that again.”

I used to think I should always work on my weaknesses. I think it was because I grew up learning the only person I could depend on was myself. Vulnerability is a key trait that I believe is essential for a fulfilling life, but that might be for another article.

The way I came to this conclusion is because I looked back into my past and created a “not-to-do list.”

Normally I…
