*Cue Imperial March*
Players: Austin, Chris, Hannah, Jamie, Emily, and myself
In the year 2077, the world is ruled by an extremely oppressive totalitarian government as a result of World War 3. However, a small pocket of resistance managed to survive the purge and is using borrowed time to plan out a coup d’état. Unfortunately for them, they had no idea their ranks had been infiltrated by two imperial spies, Ciphers Jamie and Bryant.
For the 1st mission, Jamie and Chris went out on a mission together to gather some intel of a nearby imperial outpost. In order to gain their trust, Jamie was forced to play along and let the mission proceed smoothly. With the resistance tricked, Jamie was chosen once more to go with Chris and Bryant. This time the mission was to raid an imperial armory for some weapons. For some reason, the security detail was much stronger than anticipated, forcing the squad to retreat back to base. It was at this moment the perceptive resistance Captain Emily suspected a spy among their ranks. How could a perfectly crafted plan fail in such a short time? She accused Bryant of being the spy because he made some very obvious movements that gave him away. However, with out any concrete evidence, there was no way to confirm her suspicions. Thus she convinced everyone to never let Bryant go out on a mission again. The next two missions, both with Jamie in them, resulted in one success and one failure. Despite the advantages they gained from the stolen power-suits of the previous mission, they still somehow failed the next one. The rebels got very paranoid, they were already fully convinced Bryant was one of the spies and refused to let him leave the base, but who could the other one be? That last firefight they had with the imperial patrol was very suspicious. The timing was just too good because reinforcements arrived just before they could steal one of the experimental gunships from the Imperial hangar. Could Bryant be somehow leaking info from the base, despite markswoman Hannah’s watchful eye?
Despite the setbacks, the rebels were preparing to launch their final assault against the imperial headquarters, however, it was clear no one could be trusted. They already deducted Bryant as one of the spies, who’s the other one?! Guns were drawn, forcing everyone into a Mexican standoff. Itchy trigger fingers rested on their rifles. Tension polluted the air as everyone tried to prove their own innocence. After a long series of debates, Captain Emily decided to deploy Jamie, Chris, Austin, and herself. Unfortunately, it went all all according to plan. An Imperial Special Forces squads blew open and rushed through the entrances surrounding everyone. Everyone but Jamie and Bryant. Realizing the betrayal, the four resistance members attempted to shoot back only to be brutally gunned down by the very same woman they put all their hopes and dreams on to. The reign of the Empire lives on.
