What did you do this past week?

This last week, I spent a lot of time studying for an exam in Computer Networks. I also started to work on the next phase of the project for SWE and did homework for other classes as usual. I also went to the gym for the first time in three weeks since I didn’t have phase two of the project to worry about. There was also a sprinkle of recruiting in the past week, but this week will be where a lot of recruiting stuff will happen for me.

What’s in your way?

There are three major things in my way this week. The first two are tests in algorithms as well as in biology. The third is phase three of the project. I also have a good amount of recruiting to do, so this week will be pretty busy for me unfortunately.

What will you do next week?

Next week I will study for my two tests, and I will also work on phase three of the project. Hopefully, I don’t need to sacrifice anything to do well on the other two, but I’m not sure if I can pull that off. I will also continue to do recruiting next week since I haven’t had much luck this recruiting season.

What was your experience of SQL?

I already had some experience using SQL before learning about it in class, so I already knew a lot of the basics of using SQL. I did enjoy learning about sub-queries since I haven’t used those before and they seem pretty useful.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is keyboard shortcuts. Keyboard shortcuts are really helpful for increasing your efficiency when using your computer. Here are some Chrome shortcuts I use a lot and find helpful (Windows version):

Chrome:

Ctrl + T: Open a new tab

Ctrl + Shift + T: Reopen the last closed tab/window

Ctrl + Tab: Go to the tab to the right of your current tab

Ctrl + Shift + Tab: Go to the tab to the left of your current tab

Ctrl + Number (excluding 9): Go to the Nth tab

Ctrl + 9: Go to the last tab

Ctrl + L: Highlight the address bar

Ctrl + W: Close current tab

Ctrl + Shift + W: Close current window
