Building an army can be time consuming

Can making connections on social media scale? One thing Gary Vaynerchuk does is answer every Twitter comment. He says all his free time is devoted to his fan.

Over time if you make people feel important they will reciprocate. To see whether this works I have joined 8 Facebook groups which are music based for my brother (Ian Tubbs [Fan page]). I would have joined via his fan page, but Facebook does not allow business pages to join groups. So I started a campaign of liking posts from individuals and commenting on posts. One cool thing I am experementing with is: If the person posts a YouTube vid, I would listen to some of it, add a comment with the new context I gained from watching the vid, and then post a similar vid within my comment.

The key word here is CONSISTENCY--In order to become a key community member I must post continuously and relevantly. This means I get to post everyday to each of the 7 groups, which can be very time consuming, but spending time building a fan base is time well spent.
