I was born into the wrong century: I think manners matter. I think it is rude to be late. I think you should be on time to the minute! If someone, business or personal, pays for lunch then I think a word of thanks is owed. If a distant relative sends a kid a birthday present then I think that that kid should say thank you. And speaking of lunch. If someone is seated at the end of a long rectangular table can you not see that they are dependent upon the person beside them for conversation? We are all so mindful these days but does that extend to thinking about how to politely interact with others?
