Aziz Ansari’s Tone-Deaf Return to the Spotlight
Emily J. Smith

I personally get sick of the fact that with these guys, who clearly all have problems, whether their behavior was technically illegal or not, the first question we always have to ask is — how soon can they get out of toddler-time-out, and start doing the same old tired tone-deaf schtick that got them in trouble in the first place? It’s always about their comfort. It’s not even about their paying audience’s comfort at this point. I want to know why our first question isn’t what makes their victims more comfortable. There are so many talented people in the arts desperate for an opportunity, it seems ludicrous to me to keep wasting chances on people who need to go away, for both their well-being and our own.
