“I had severe weaknesses that accounted for how I felt growing up, but also great strengths that I could build upon.”
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if schools could help students discover what they are like when at their best … and worst… and build on their strengths before they get to college or begin their career? Most would not need a $1200 assessment to find out. In fact, teachers could be trained in how to help students discover their thinking/information processing styles and high performance patterns that begin to appear in early childhood. With this information students could learn faster and have their learning reside in long-term memory (like you, Chandni). In addition to knowing these styles and patterns for oneself, group excellence is enhanced if one’s classmates, teammates, coaches, teachers and work supervisors know theirs as well. Such knowledge within and across groups help people become more effective on teams, make and keep friends, and make better career choices.
Coaching students to discover their thinking style and high performance pattern is embedded in the Fast Break accelerated learning framework that is designed to quickly improve basic skills and emotional intelligence while helping students discover and plan their careers.
