Twenty Nothings of a Twenty-Something
This is a story about me. And it’s a story about you. Okay really, it’s just a story about me. When I started my twenties, I was in my second year of college, working to “discover” myself, and I realized that this is the point where life starts to make more sense. As if you were far-sighted the first nineteen years of living, and only in your twenties (now that I’m in my late ones) do you start wearing the right prescription that brings everything into focus. There are your 30s, there are your 40s, but most of us start making real decisions in our twenties. A transition phase, crossing the chasm from childhood to adulthood.
That is what my writings will be about: twenty ideas that I myself have learned in my twenties, with my 30s rapidly approaching. I feel these motifs can speak not only for my current generation, but also resonate with anyone who has felt these “nothings” before. With the advent of mobile communication and social media, many Millenials feel that we are extraordinarly different from our parents, our grandparents, our great grandparents, etc. Although we have these devices on hand constantly, we still do not have the technical skills necessary to completely eliminate the “nothings” of being a twenty-something. I think this will be interesting and I hope you enjoy the next post.
