What if companies interviewed translators the way they interview coders?
Jose Aguinaga

Absolutely brilliant. Not only are you wickedly funny, you have a wonderfully vicious critique. And, for any of you thinking about leaving corpo-world to write for a living: I was granted a milli-second moment of an HR person’s time when I asked about applying for a job to teaching creative writing as an adjunct. I have eight nationally published books, was an NPR commentator for ten years, have published hundreds of op ed pieces and columns. HR asked me what my degree was and when I got it. My degree is in Psych from — gasp! — 1975. That was it. The interview was over. I wonder now if she was a recorded voice.
