Robert Duncan: A Syncretic Voice
January 7th, 2019 was the 100th birthday anniversary of Robert Duncan’s birthday, one of America’s greatest poets and one of my personal favorites, a member of the “San Francisco Renaissance” which helped make SF a leading center of American poetry. Check out the Poetry Foundation biography in the link below which says “a distinctive voice in American poetry, Duncan’s idiosyncratic poetics drew on myth, occultism, religion — including the theosophical tradition in which he was raised — and innovative writing practices such as projective verse and composition by field.”
