A good heuristic I’ve found is to ask myself, “what is the worst that can happen?” in any situations that involve fear.

I’ve found that helps clarify what the worst-case consequence will be (driverless car — someone is killed; creased napkins — someone sees a creased napkin). And then relentlessly focus on the important things.
