Do you think game shows are so popular in the U.S. because people are obsessed with competition and the ideology of the American dream? In just one night on the show, people can successfully jump to a higher social class. In regards to to competition, americans are raised through our culture to have to win at everything. Watching people on the show and being better (in their opinion) then them makes them tune in everyday.
