I have sadly only known Harris posthumously through his CBB appearances, but he seems to have been a very special, albeit troubled person. Having experienced prescription opioid troubles myself and barely pulled myself out of it, I know what a steep and uncontrollable experience it can be, something those who have not experienced can never understand. It seems to me that the tragic death of someone as intelligent, successful, and talented as Harris should be an especially loud clarion call for everyone.
However, I read your article through before I realized who your brother was, only seeing his name in the comments and putting it together, as I am sure you intended. The belated recognition made your already compelling piece all the more startling. Your points about IRL vs. URL, as I like to put it, are not new but apparently need constant reiteration. How exactly do we completely ignore the golden rule when online? It’s absolutely shocking, and I am no shrinking violet.
Thank you for your piece. May even one troll reconsider his behavior after reading it. And know, as you do, that Harris' work lives on and that he was very well-loved.
