Wow. What an incredibly anal-retentive note-taking process :-) Having said that, use what works. I have a system that I am sure looks archaic to anyone else, but works for me. I have used a small spiral-bound notebook for the past 2 decades to capture notes, tasks, and ideas. Some of them get “migrated” to other pages where they are expanded upon, while others move to Outlook, OneNote, and simply crossed out as completed. When all items on a page have been completed, I tear out the page.

I’m not an advocate for moving entirely away from the technology to paper, just as I don’t believe (for me) in using only tech. I’ve found a nice medium using both (and a nice supply of sticky notes…which also regularly get migrated to the notebook or technology).

Use what works.
