I agree that labels like “racist” and “bigot” have gotten a bit threadbare from overuse these days.

Well the term bigoted means “ having or revealing an obstinate belief in the superiority of one’s own opinions and a prejudiced intolerance of the opinions of others” so really any legislation could be considered bigoted because it’s passed based on the legislators’ beliefs that their opinions should be made into law. Maybe the real problem with using “bigoted legislation” is that it’s redundant.
