Gor is an open-source tool for capturing and replaying live HTTP traffic into a test environment in order to continuously test your system with real data. It can be used to increase confidence in code deployments, configuration changes and infrastructure changes.

Gor is getting traction, and there are hundreds of companies using it. But clearly it does not get enough love, and I’m going to fix that. I started working on Gor for full-time https://medium.com/@buger/working-on-open-source-full-time-as-indie-developer-3693fc90d545, and I want to share my excitement and vision of the project.

I’m happy to present you first results of this work: new major 0.11 release which is better by all definitions: speed, stability, quality. Main changes are: switching to LGPL license, significantly smaller packet loss, improved speed, support for Windows and Mac, new site, and announce of Pro version

Introducing paid options is a win-win situation for both sides. Open core business model allows me to focus on building the best products possible. My interests and the customer’s interests are well aligned: the customer gets extensive documentation, a quality implementation, support, insurance and can participate in the development process.

I believe Gor is the next big step for automated QA and regression testing and can become daily tool used by your team. Imagine having a dashboard where your QA team can replay and modify production traffic to test environments they want, comparing differences between original and replayed response, with intelligent analytics. Integrating Gor to your CI and ensuring that every build matches expectations of your real users. Testers can replay your real traffic for the last month to a new environment for a just few hours/minutes, and find all regression bugs. Powerful load testing reports based on real data. Possibilities are endless, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next!

I would love to chat with anyone hello@gortool.com!
