Zoos in China-Why should we visit them?
When it comes to zoos, Chinese are at their best in the exposure of wild life ; perfectly maintained and well displayed.Today, China is also leading the world due to it’s fascinating zoological gardens, botanical gardens, natural aquariums and habitats for the protection and survival of wild life.In 2018 the total number of parks and zoos in China were to be 16,735.
Beijing Zoo
The oldest public garden in Beijing,the capital of China is considered as the largest zoo in China and was founded in 1906.This spacious zoo consist of more than 30 large halls including lion hall, monkey hall, tiger hall elephant hall, the most popular panda hall and many more.This zoo is significantly a zoological research centre to study various breeding species all over the world.
It is well known for its collection of rare native animal and is a house of 450 species of animals such as giant panda the most renowned specie in China’s Zoos, Chinese giant salamander, Chinese alligators, white lipped dears, South China tiger, Golden snub-nosed monkey. It is. A shelter of some other threatened species such as yak, Siberian tiger, kiang, snow leopard. This collection is further more expanded to gorillas, polar bears, hippopotamus, jaguars, lemurs, penguins, sea turtles, zebras, giraffes and to surprisingly 13 out of world’s 15 species of cranes.
Shenyang forest zoo
In the province of Liaoning, northern China Shenyang is a well known zoo. From my standpoint it is one of the most innovated and is a bit touristy.It’s enhancement over the years have incredibly increased public interaction with wild life.
History says that at first this zoo was set up in September 1998.But later on Shenyang, Liaoning, People’s Republic of China was blamed of mistreating the animals and many animals were died due to starvation between 2009 and 2010.
Jinan zoo
Previously named Taurus Park is now known as Jinan zoo.It is one of the prominent and largest zoos in China and is located in northern area of Jinan in Shandong province.It was established 1st May 1960.It is enlisted as the top 10 zoos of China.
It contains a vast variety of more than 300 animal species with sheltering about 5000 animals.

Tianjin Zoo
Its construction was started in 1975 and doors was opened for public in January 1, 1980.It is situated in Nankai District, Tianjin.This zoo is spread over 53.77 hectares which covers about 26.4 acres area for lakes.
It roughly a habitation for 3000 animals of approximately 200 species.
Wuhan Zoo
The beautiful Wuhan zoo is one of the most popular tourist attraction, many people come to visit it during holidays. It is a type of semi natural island located on the bank of Moshui Lake in Hubei Province, wrapping 42 hectares of dry land while 26.7 hectares of water.

The distance between Tianjin and Wuhan zoo is about 998 km.
