Introducing: BULLIT (now in beta!)

Being a millennial in today’s competitive job market is tough, and bad news: we’re only making it tougher. While the rest of the population seems to be slowly improving their employment rates, we’re being left out from new openings and face steeper competition than generations past. On top of that, millennials must combat the perception that our generation is somehow less trustworthy, loyal, and dependable than our predecessors.

Reading this probably makes you want to take every advantage to make sure you stand out from the crowd. There are some key qualities that make being a millennial a distinct advantage; our generation is more self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and independent than others in the workforce. We’re more technologically-savvy and pick up new platforms and tools much quicker than our predecessors.

BULLIT was created to help professionals — especially millennials — leverage their strengths to rise above generational stereotypes and nondescript resumes.

We’ve been taught over and over again to sterilize our social media profiles and make sure no personal details are available to recruiters, colleagues, and clients. But, as it turns out, we’re missing a huge opportunity.

Even with 1 billion people on Facebook and over 400 million active users on Instagram, millennials do not have a social media channel that works to their professional advantage. Only 22% of millennials are on LinkedIn, which means that roughly 78% of millennials have zero professional social media presence. And recruiters and others in your professional life are actually seeking for a deeper understanding of what makes you a great employee. Research shows that 93% of hiring managers check a candidate’s social media profiles before making a hiring decision.

So, we have a problem. Millennials are being falsely branded as being unreliable or irresponsible. They aren’t getting access to new jobs at the same rate as other generations. Moreover, they have no professional social media presence, despite the fact that recruiters and others are seeking more information about a worker’s leadership, creativity, and reliability.

BULLIT wants to solve this puzzle with a community that helps take your personality out of its black box.

On our platform, you can curate feedback from your best references to showcase the things that make you so good at your job; the things that are virtually hidden from your CV’s and bland LinkedIn profile. With BULLIT, you can show how you excel in six key areas, respond to feedback from your biggest supporters, and learn more about the work styles of clients and colleagues before you walk into the big presentation.

The best part? You’re in control of everything you show (or choose to hide) on your profile. Your references are always available to speak up on your behalf, not just at those critical points when you’re looking for a new job. You can show your best feedback today and everyday, and make sure that people see what you do best.

Stop playing defense on social media and let your network show the world who you really are at the office: the person behind the credentials. Your professional network — those waiting to give you your next big break — is waiting for you to leverage some of the soft skills that make you so good at what you do. Check out our platform, now in beta, today to see what activating your network to build a professional profile can do for you. Head over to beta.BULLIT.me today!
