Last week Epic Games, who acquired HouseParty over a year ago, announced they are going to be shutting down the app in October, and the team behind it will be moving onto different projects within Epic Games.
Since then, Bunch quickly became the number one destination for people who enjoyed HouseParty. Bunch currently ranks #1 for the HouseParty search results on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and our daily active usage already more than tripled in just a few days.
HouseParty users are finding a new home on Bunch because it not only offers many of the same games that were available on HouseParty such as Crazy Cards and Trivia, but also new ones like Mars Dash where you can race with friends Mario Kart Style across the galaxy, and Hoops where you can shoot hoops with friends over video chat. Plus, unlike HouseParty, Bunch lets players party up and jump into their favorite games like Roblox, Minecraft, Among Us and Call of Duty.
Sima, Ben and team at HouseParty built a great product that helped millions stay connected with friends. Bunch is guided by a similar mission of bringing people together through shared experiences, like playing games.
