It definitely works better with small companies that have external framework to deal with. We are only 13 people and we work with schools — the school year and calendars move the work along just fine and the ecosystem style expectations means that we operate so that every team is able to deliver. When the work is output-based, than open vacation is realistic and not guilt-based but responsibility-based.
