Dude bros do have it the best (since, at least classically, they are white and at the minimum middle class) but all that posturing they do to appear as “dude bros” is part and parcel with patriarchy because their desire to appear masculine (by being loud know it alls, by bedding lots of women, by showing how much they like to party) is following a script. Maybe a script that doesn’t actually make them happy, just like the script women followed for years that dictated they have babies and not work outside the home. That being said, the piece was dumb. Plenty of women ARE working towards evening the playing field and I would bet those women also enjoy booze. To say that booze is somehow impeding women standing up for themselves sounds like some Carry A. Nation temperance bullshit.
