After long years of inner work, yoga, meditation, etc. I was recently drawn to undertake an Iboga experience in order to obtain a deeper insight into any remaining blockages within my reach, as much of the low-hanging fruit had already been plucked. After ingesting a large quantity of the ground African root bark, my entire nervous system lit up like a Christmas tree. What followed was a thirty-hour nonstop vision of what I believe to be the super-mundane realms, with most, especially the lower, jam-packed with life forms, beginning with the grossest and ending with the most sublime. Afterward, with my nervous energy exhausted, my level of awareness was severely restricted leaving me almost helpless. Fortunately, it gradually returned over the course of several days.

Lessons learned: First, your experience will be unique, unexpected, and possibly even disappointing, depending on the structure of your ego, and the refinement and tuning of your nervous system and its higher structures. Second, as Caitlin explained above, psychedelics are a tool and not a shortcut. Lastly, we are by no means alone, and it is necessary and wise that our vision be limited until our maturity and development render us capable of bearing that which is higher than ourselves.
