At WeWork, the first app I opened when we started wasn’t Sketch. It was Google Docs. You need to clearly articulate the problems first, with words and sentences. Be specific. Where are things breaking down? Where are the biggest pain points, not just for you, but for the whole team? A design system doesn’t exist in a vacuum, it needs to solve problems for everyone. Find the common pain. For example:
One image is not enough. To really show off the product, you need several images taken from multiple angles, to give customers some perspective of the size, color and shape. Including a zoom function is a good call, so that visitors can see the object more closely. If the product comes in more than one color, always include photos of each. After all, ‘blue’ could mean anything from sky blue to darkest navy — and your visitors will want to know.
