Phil Hellmuth is an American professional poker player, who was born in 1964 in Madison, Wisconsin. He has won seventeen World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, the 1989 WSOP Main Event, and is in the WSOP Poker Hall of Fame. He attended the University of Wisconsin — Madison for three years before dropping out to become a professional poker player. In 1988, he won money in his WSOP tournament, $1,500 for 5th Place. One year later in 1989, he became the youngest WSOP Main Event winner at the age of 24.

Hellmuth’s career poker earnings are $26.6 million, with his largest win being $2.6 million in a 2012 WSOP Event.
