Jocko Willink is an American author and retired Navy SEAL, who was born in 1971 in Connecticut. Willink earned an English degree from the University of San Diego. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy and successfully completed BUD/S and SEAL trainings. He served eight years as an enlisted SEAL before commissioning and becoming an officer. His twenty years in service included deployments to Asia, Middle East, and Europe. Willink also served as a Navy SEAL instructor before retiring.
Following his military career, he started Echelon Front, a leadership consulting firm, with his SEAL teammate Leif Babin. As an author, he has written Extreme Ownership, The Dichotomy of Leadership, Discipline Equals Freedom, and Leadership Strategy and Tactics. Willink has also found success with “The Jocko Podcast.”
