Robert Kraft is an American businessman and NFL team owner. Kraft was born in 1941 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He graduated from Columbia University in 1963 and the earned an MBA from Harvard in 1965. He began his professional career at a packaging company, which he ended up buying through a leveraged buyout in 1968. In 1972, he founded a company that traded physical paper commodities. Today, they are each the largest privately held companies in their respective sector. In 1974 he purchased the World Team Tennis (WTT) team, but the franchise and league soon collapsed.

In 1988, Kraft purchased the stadium where the New England Patriots played, which proved to be vital. This allowed him to be able to block several future Patriots owners from relocating the team, due to the lease the team had with him at the stadium. Finally in 1994, Kraft was able to purchase the New England Patriots, which he continues to own today.

Kraft paid $172 million for the Patriots in 1994, who are worth $7 billion today.

Today, Robert Kraft is worth $11.1 billion.
