On Wine. A tragedy.
Ryan Opaz

I’ve been so turned off by local wine shops. They advertise being so helpful but anytime I’ve tried to be humble enough to show my openness to learn, I feel more like an idiot and just get angry.

I go in wanting to try something “fancier” than my usual $8-$10 wine. I want something close to the palettes I am already used to, or something similar to an expensive wine I’ve had, for a cheaper price that I can drink more often at home.

I don’t get that so I usually do my research at home, which is long and arduous for me, because I tend to go overboard, and then I give up and end up with my regular wines and never trying anything new…except by the glass at restaurants.
