However what bothers me is if people start to market their podcast before it is worth it. Spend more time on promotion instead of creating content worth market.

Great point, Petr! Though most podcasting advice is focused on picking the right equipment and promotion, content is the #1 most important aspect of any successful podcast.

You can nail all the promotional aspects, but if your podcast stinks nobody is going to subscribe and become a listener.
