You Are Going to Switch to Figma
Tom Johnson

Great article. What enthusiasm!

From a designers workflow perspective, there still are some gaps. Without 3rd party tools, who is going to fill them?

This is how I would see the different stages of the workflow:

  • Create / Produce > Build upon a shared design library (#2 nested symbols + #3 team library)
  • Review > Ability to annotate (a version)
  • Testing > A simple clickable prototype
  • Hand-over > Images are fine (imho)

So Figma is doing the Create/Produce very well, tries to have a solutions for Review. It’s unfortunately still missing the other half of the workflow.

I seriously hope I can do the whole workflow in a single tool one day! This surely inspires me to play around some more with Figma.
