The infamous heroes
It’s about behind the scene stars!
Being a developer, it is always a pleasure to work in start-ups. We can make considerable change in the organization and we can develop a comfortable culture and influence the decisions of the organization. We will be doing lot of things which every one will not be given the opportunity to do.
The important thing is these developers work so much hard that they achieve targets in unimaginable timelines. There are few who burn their nights to get the feature to production. Staying at office whole night, all alone, without food, and working for the feature to launch in an intended time, is an awesome feel that only typical developers can enjoy. But what all these efforts are for?
When I read about the biographies of some accomplished industrialists in IT industry, they mention names of people who helped scale the organization. Obviously they are to be mentioned because they have contributed a lot during the initial phase of the organization. Very much equally, developers also have contributed to bring things up and have undeniably worked hard for the organization. But I never have seen any industrialist mention such kind of developers who made it really possible to have a competitive product.
They do appreciations within the organizations but why not remember the potential developers who have worked hard and accomplished things at various times while talking about success? Even the entrepreneurs, who had came from the developer background, forget the importance of the developers who have made their vision come true. Simply telling that its the team work does’t give any credit to any developers. Nobody will notice who is your team.
After all these effort and hard work, what the developer receives is a simple internal appreciation mail which is worth for nothing actually. Does it add to his profile? No. At least do these industrialists endorse the skills of the developers in public who helped them to reach what they have reached? No. I don’t know why they are not even ready to do that even after knowing 100% about the skill of the developer.
One thing they should understand is, no developer burns his nights and completes the task just for what he is paid. He does it with passion and enthusiasm, carrying the vision of the employers, to make it come true at very perfect time. But he is not even remembered when they do a write up about how the organization grew so far. Hard truth but it’s really happening. They talk about architects, visionaries, sales heads, deal crackers but not about the those developers who really made what they sell.
Even after knowing all these truth, these stupid developers still put extraordinary efforts to make the vision of someone else come true. I feel pity about them because even I am one of them. ☹
Not just developers, I dedicate this post to every professional whose hard work, accomplishments and outstanding contributions had just went unnoticed.
To tomorrow’s entrepreneurs, keep in mind the contributions of those who really worked hard behind the scene to make your dreams come true. They are also worth mentioning in the history that you are writing. Bring out those infamous heroes to light.
